Whooo Are We?

In Fall 2002, KSU launched its first-ever residence life program! Since then we have grown to four apartment communities on campus: KSU Place, Austin Residence Complex, University Village, and the University Village Suites. We currently have over 3500 students living on campus, only 12 short years after opening the first housing at KSU.
KSU Place, Austin Residence Complex, and University Village are apartment-style, fully furnished units with full kitchens. At both Austin Residence Complex and University Village, each apartment has a washer/dryer and a bedroom and bathroom per resident. At KSU Place, each apartment has four bedrooms, and two residents share one bath. Some KSU Place Units have washers/dryers (Bldgs D-G), while the others use a community laundry room located within the complex. Austin Residence Complex can accommodate 1150 residents; KSU Place can accommodate 582 residents; and University Village can accommodate 881 residents.
University Village Suites, which opened in Fall 2008, houses 913 freshmen students in suite-style accommodations. Features of this community include community kitchens and laundry, as well as individual bedrooms for every resident. The majority of the units are two-bedroom, one-bath units, though there are a limited number of 4-bedroom and 1-bedroom options available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Residence Life program at Kennesaw State University strives to provide students with a safe, healthy and attractive living environment which supports the educational mission of the University. The overall emphasis of the residential education program is to continue to promote learning outside the classroom and support the academic enterprise.
Residence hall staff are educators. The primary focus of our professional, live-in staff is that of fostering student learning in all aspects of the residence hall experience. Some of the many ways in which staff accomplish this are educational programs, as well as social, vocational, physical and leadership opportunities.
Students living in residence will be provided with many significant opportunities to grow and develop. The communities developed in the residence halls and the programs and activities they provide have the potential to profoundly impact the quality of life for resident students while enhancing their academic experience and supporting the academic mission of Kennesaw State University.
